I am pretty much going to paraphrase the same thing as I say every year. Firstly, let me say THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE ME SOMETHING. This is by far the worst time of year at my job, which makes me doubly appreciative that you are taking the time to create something just for me. Please be assured that if we have matched on one of the fandoms that I have requested, you will write me something that I will love. Write a story that you enjoy writing and I will be thrilled to receive it. I am going to do a lot of rambling in this letter, but optional details are optional and I promise that you I will love anything you write for me. Feel free to ignore everything and anything here - mostly, what I want to say to you is have fun. Write a story that you love and I am sure that I will love it too.

That said, my weaknesses are many and legion. Among them are (and this is exactly the same list as i always leave):

Angst (but reasonably explained and not for the sake of it) and I like it if everything works out in the end; redemptive endings (not necessarily for everybody); missing moments from canon; unrequited love (but not forever); myths (in all their forms); stories within stories and, indeed, structural cleverness of all kinds; backstories and stories that go beyond the reach of canon in either direction; romance (but only in character); journeys to places that are far or near; things that span a lot of time - arcs as it were; banter during sex; good funny; well researched, elaborate AUs; conversations; trains and ships; in character kink...

and so on.

Basically, I am easy to please if there's a heart in it ♥

Specific stuff on my requests (I don't want to get too specific about this, so really this is very visceral rambly stuff to give you ideas? Maybe? Feel free to ignore it). Also, I will probably ramble about ships a lot. I ALSO LOVE GEN FIC, so feel free to ignore anything like that:

Turn (AMC) (Ben Tallmadge, Abraham Woodhull, Caleb Brewster)
There really is nothing in this fandom that you could write that wouldn't delight me. Ship fic - polyamory would be delightful - for friendship. I'd love something set before the war that explores their friendship. I'd love something focused on espionage but, conversely, don't feel the need to include the war at all. Go wild!

Rivers of London (Peter Grant, Thomas Nightingale, Molly, Beverly Brook)
I love these books. I love Peter and his relationship with Leslie, his relationship with Beverly. I love the way he is around women, the way he is around his mother, the way his about magic. Peter Grant is one of those characters that I can proudly label as 'mine' and I love him for it. I find him to be at utterly relatable, believable character and I love that about him. I would love anything about Peter, set during any of the books (the first one is still my favourite, but I love all of them). Peter and the Rivers is probably my favourite part of the books. I love that he manages to still quite fancy Leslie. I love that he loves being a copper and is a little bit crap at magic. I love that he loves London, strange as it is.

ALTERNATIVELY, I also would love a story about Nightingale at Ettersburg. Or in his youth. Anything about Nightingale's backstory would be excellent. Or something that stitches together the few slight things we know about Molly and how she came to be so integral to the Folly.

For reference, I think the idea of Peter/Nightingale is lovely and, if you wanted to write that, I'd be very pleased. I would be equally pleased by any het pairing for Peter. I am open to any scenario that involves Peter Grant naked (especially because he now looks like Elliot Knight in my head - thank you, BBC One).

If this is the fandom that we match on, rest assured that I will have read Foxglove Summer before the challenge closes - include spoilers at will.

Penny Dreadful (Ethan Chandler, Dorian Grey)
With these boys, I'm really most interested in backstory. How did they end up how they are? Obviously, there's source material to work with with Dorian, but an origin story for Ethan would be fascinating. The fic absolutely doesn't need to be shippy but I would love it if it was! I am fascinated by Ethan's bisexuality so a fic exploring his identity would also be amazing. I love the feel of this show so much so anything in this universe would be excellent.

How to Get Away with Murder (Connor Walsh, Wes Gibbons)
I selected these two characters but, really, I'd be really pleased to see anyone show up in this fic. Explorations of character, something that happens within the current time line (either of them), something silly, something angsty, whatever! Smut! Smut would be superb! It's not like Conor's discerning.

I'll be completely up to date with episodes so please don't worry about spoilers!

In the Flesh (Simon Monroe, Kieren Walker)
Oh my heart, my heart. With season 3 still hanging in the balance, I am dying to know what happens next for these boys. Do they manage to be happy? How does their life together pan out? Does everyone leave them alone? What about the second rising? I'd love something plotty here but, equally, something fluffy and sweet would be lovely. Bonus points for use of Keaton Henson lyrics.

Orphan Black (Sarah Manning, Cal Morrison)
Oh my heart, my heart. With these two, I'm back to wanting backstory about those two months or so that they spent together that clearly had such a big impact on both of them. Cal's a fascinating character and I'd love something exploring him - what was it about him that made someone like Sarah let him in? Sarah's the most interesting of the clones to me - it seems to be that she's had to fight for everything she has and she clearly doesn't always do the right thing - something that gets inside Sarah's head, the clone club and how Cal might fit into all of that would be wonderful.

Thank you so much, Santa! Sorry again for the complete lack of details initially <3. See you in January!
