Packing my bags and off to Windsor, Ontario this evening. The Council of Great Lakes Research managers meets all day tomorrow. Drive safely. We just got back from Michigan (nephew Nathan had a graduation open house, which is why I missed the CGS Borders meeting on Saturday.) The heron are flying over the road (forget where) and if you take the backroads route directly to Findlay, there's a road closure on OH State Route 31 that caused us to detour on SRs 273 and 292, and see an Amish buggy.

So which Joe (our Joe?) and is this posse planning its maneuvers in Columbus or up by Lake Erie?

Indeed, Columbus Joe, and they were convening here last night (actually Arlington Cafe). Alas, with all my travel and work commitments this week, I just wasn't up for it; my wishing Joe well will have to wait.

As I am oft wont, I stepped in a little too deeply: about eyebrow deep, I think. I tend to not say much unless I actually know a little something about that said. To those only casually observing, this makes me appear to know more than I actually do. I asked a few questions in discussion about five International Joint Commission priorities that were handed down to the Council of Great Lakes Research Managers (CGLRM), and now am charged with heading the work group to draft a CGLRM work plan for one: fish consumption. Well, I don't know nothing (and this is a correct use of the double negative) about fish consumption issues and advisories, but this is certainly not an area where I'd claim to be expert.
