both our cars are slated for the shop

That's a definite Oh Shit... too bad. But this balmy weather we are having is a good excuse for bicycle riding... you can borrow mine, if you don't have one...

Thanks, Matanya. I have a lovely bike--used to be a very avid cyclist. Unfortunately, squirrels have eaten my handlebar pads and seat since that time.

Let me know if an offer of a ride to and from CGS guitar rehearsal would relieve some family car pressure.

Thanks, Robin. Unfortunately, Big W stuck that next rehearsal on a 3rd Thursday. My Thursday evenings are tightly booked: 1st goes to one of the OSU student clubs I advise, 2nd and 4th are supposed to go to the CGS members' ensemble, and the 3rd goes to The Ohio Smallmouth Alliance (TOSA). This month it is particularly important I not miss the meeting of TOSA; I am giving a formal prsentation: "Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia and Ohio's Fish." Outside of summer, those rare 5th Thursdays are mine to lounge. During summer, all my Thursdays except the one on the transition week between OSU terms are taken by the Stone Lab lecture series.

Argh! Yep, two wrecks in as many days is definitely some sort of record. I'm only glad wee Gene (or anyone else, for that matter) wasn't hurt in either of them!

Ah, what an oversight! That nobody was hurt in either of these incidents should have been my very first comment. Nobody was, and thank you for your comment.

Wee Gene (more properly Eugene C. Braig V), by the way, is a freshman in college and no longer particularly wee.

...And for those of you who use logical systems of measurement, 100,000 miles is approx. 160,000 km.
