Earlier today we went to East Beach. The tide was out and after a bit we decided to walk out into the mud/sand. I thought that after a short walk we could swim in the low tide mark. We got all the way out to the end of the boom. After we got home I looked it up and we went 1.2 miles out and never got to the water. I would say it was easily ( Read more... )

it is! i've been looking at it this morning and this time of year there's about 4.5 meters difference between low and high tide.

it does! prior to living here i didn't realize the tide could vary by so much either. our tidal difference this time of year is around 4.5 meters (about 15 feet). i found this tidal difference map on wikipedia that i think is pretty interesting.
