Lazy day (RP, open to anyone)

Euphie was done with all of her urgent homework, and it was a beautiful sunny day out. In her opinion, that meant it was time to truly enjoy it for the first time in months. She could walk without guards here, since the chance of being shot again was slim

Lucrecia had decided today was a good day to simply enjoy the outdoors. A few blankets were slung over her shoulder so she could sit on it instead of the grass and a pile of papers and books could be seen in her arms as she walked. She was bringing her homework and classwork outside today. Hopefully there wouldn't be any wind so she wouldn't be chasing after papers all day.

Her eyes landed on an unfamiliar face in the grass and she headed over, deciding to be social for once in her life. With a smile, she stopped close to the other woman. "It's such a nice day out. Do you mind if I join you?" she asked, offering the shoulder laden with blankets to the woman.

She turned when someone spoke to her and looked at the other woman quickly. Euphie kept smiling warmly at the chance presented to her to meet someone new.

"Not at all. Do you need any help spreading that blanket out?"

Hitomi had been running across campus, taking the good weather as a chance to take up her track-runner habits again. She was now heading back towards her dorm- a bit reluctant to leave the good weather for a closed room.

It was on her way back, she chanced to see two other women setting up blankets on the lawn. She seemed to waver for a moment before heading towards them. "Um..." She didn't even know what to say to try and join them.

Lucrecia smiled at the woman's eagerness to help and nodded. "I have several I was going to use to sit on and as a table. Thank you."

Her attention was then drawn to the other woman approaching and she smiled warmly over at this newcomer. "It's so nice out," she called gently. "Why don't you join us? I have blankets we can all use to sit on."

Bending down, she set her books down on the grass and began to lay the blankets out so they all could have one to sit on. Two or three would be left over, even after Lucrecia claimed a second for use as a table for her books.

"I'm Lucrecia Crescent. It's so nice to be able to meet other people."

Euphie waved at the third girl and helped Lucrecia spread the blankets out on the ground. "I'm glad the work I need to do is all taken care of. Why do you still have so much to do?" she asked before she sat down.

After hearing the woman's name, Euphie decided it would be polite to introduce herself as well.

"My name's Euphemia. You can call me Euphie, though." Her full name just seemed too formal for a meeting like this.

Lelouch was walking back to his dorm following those very, very strange events at the mech hangar. As he walked, he noticed Hitomi making her way over to a couple of other women. His eyes followed the brunette's path...and went wide.

"Eu-" he choked over her name. He couldn't talk to her...or to Hitomi. Each alone would be a hard enough conversation...together he didn't have a chance.

He cast his eyes down, and rushed through. He didn't care if Euphie and Hitomi saw him, or called to him. He wanted to get back to his dorm, and now.

Lucrecia was feeling about the same way as Hitomi, but a smile and murmured "thank you" was all she gave in response, tucking the money back into her pocket.

"We'll have to find something to do for her someday," she murmured to Hitomi as Euphie walked away.

"It really is nice to be outside with people," she commented, smiling over at Hitomi before she went back to marking something up on the paper in front of her.

Euphie quickly walked to the store and bought what Lucrecia and Hitomi had asked for, along with something for herself and several bottles of water. She returned in a couple of minutes and handed the snacks out, then sat back down. Seeing Lelouch still had her in a bit of a daze.

"Thank you very much." Hitomi said, taking her share of the snacks once Euphie came back. She downed a good portion of the water before starting in on her chips. She munched on her snack quietly, merely enjoying the nice weather as the lull in conversation continued.

Lucrecia made a few marks in her papers as she waited for Euphie to return, murmuring her thanks as she took her share. "I feel badly making you go get everything yourself... Can I do something for you in return?"

The scientist was used to a give and take relationship, not one that was purely give. It had been years since she'd had an actual friendship like this.
