I'm watching The Father of the Bride right now, and this is the first time I have noticed the pricing of the wedding details. There are a couple of crucial scenes. When George Banks is at work, he is waiting for the cost estimate. He gets the call that it will cost $250 a head. Then, he gets the head count from his wife. 572 people. 572. I mean, I always thought some brides got carried away. But the whole thing was supposed to be Annie wanting a smallish wedding at home. Lol! What is the highest amount you've ever heard of anyone spending on a wedding, at your hall?

our hall is for the "budget" bride. so the biggest bill i've evern done is $14,000 i think. obviously they'd have more expenses on top of that - dress, rings, flowers, etc, - but ours is the big bill cuz it includes food, decorations, and DJ.

That movie always amazed me. Is 572 people even NECESSARY? Especially in a large, but not massive house. *shakes head*

Poor George Banks.

I REALLY need to own that movie, it's really one of my all time favorites! <3

Yeah, that's just an insane amount of people!

For the longest time, I only owned Father of the Bride Part II. Then I realized I should probably have both. :P

I happened to catch that part a while ago (after the wedding or right before it), and I felt the same way. I didn't do the math, but I was like, "500+ people and $250 a head? That's just insane. I don't think we even KNOW that many people!"

I think they get upset is because they can afford it. Remember, he owns his own (successful) shoe company.
