That advice is a few years too late to benefit me (and it would have done, because maybe I wouldn't be spending every hour god sends in an insurance office, worrying about similar things) but it's very true.
If you hadn't done your masters you'd be regretting it now and discussing how a degree is not enough anymore and how badly you regret the missed opportunity.
Tis far better to have done the thing and regret the lost money than to have not done it and regret the missed time, knowledge and experience.
Never, ever, ever, feel negative about being educated else you will be reclassified as a Yank and go 'on the list'.
Plus; if you'd never done your masters, the causal chain that lead to your short, broke, return to Colchester would never have occurred. And then you'd never have met me. Obviously knowing me is far more valuable than any amount of crass and vulgar money, therefore you are technically in the black! hurrah!
technically, techincally, though i won't be clothed, shod, housed and fed merely by knowing you, will i? although i will of course be much more spiritually, emotionally and intellectually enriched by your presence.
but you're right; it's far better to regret what you have done, than the things you haven't.
