Our first trip to Spain, just like every trip to a new hostel, offered up pleasant surprises and strange negatives. Prague Castle with onlookers. This castle, most of the visible part being St. Vitus Cathedral, sits upon a hill across the river from most of the city. A walk across Charles Bridge (below) and up some windy cobble stone roads gets you to the top. Wenceslas Monument at Wenceslas Square. The National Museum is in the background. This is the square that saw many of the Communist rallies and their subsequent protests. So we’re back from our whirl-wind getaway to Prague. No photos yet as we are back to work and busy with all sorts of other things. The past weekend saw some classic (rainy) London weather. We did manage to get down to the Russian Winter Festival anyway. It was pretty much what it sounds like. On Sunday we took a walk through Greenwich. It is the home of the current University of Greenwich and Trinity Music School, formerly the Royal Naval College. It is also home to the Prime Meridian, the line I'm stradling below. Yes, we know, England and London in particular is known for its rain and fog. But this Christmas the fog was unusually dense. So much so that during the busiest and most lucrative time of the year for the airlines, they had to cancel most of the flights into and out of Heathrow.
