I'm looking for some budgeting tips, and wondering if anyone could help. I'm referencing a book I've used for Europe before on suggested daily budgets, but as it's now a few years out of date and I'm getting mixed answers searching, I thought I'd come here and ask ( Read more... )

I'm just back from Christmas/New Year trip to Kiev and Lviv. Train tickets between Kiev and Lviv were 266 UAH per person, one way (night train). Restaurant for two - 250 UAH. Coffee shop with food - 80 UAH. Museum entrance - 10-20 UAH (depending on exhibition). Public transport - 1.50 UAH per person, one trip within city. Kiev Metro (subway) - 2 UAH. Kiev tend to be somewhat more expensive, Lviv in general is cheaper.

See pictures in my journal and free to ask for more information.

I did Prague in 2012 and 2013 as part of two different tours. I don't know the prices of museums as I spent most of my time wandering the city. It's absolutely beautiful and there's so many hidden gems as you walk around. If you're not a drinker, I think you should be good on 50euro. I did it on a bus tour so I wouldn't know about traveling between cities.

Good luck and have fun! If you have other questions about Prague, I can try to help.

Awesome, thanks for the answer! I generally spend the majority of my time just wandering when I travel myself, and I'm really excited to see Prague in person rather than pictures. Thanks for your tips!! c:

My favorite view was from Troja Castle (I believe that's the name of it) it's the castle up on the hill and you get a great view of the city from there that is well worth checking out.
