Just a question. Do most states in the US have cities named Liberty and Independence?

Anyway, when I went down to Kansas for Christmas, my family ended up going to Independence, MO to tour the Vaile Mansion there. It was closed, which is too bad. Cool houses are cool.

So we thought about going to the Truman presidential library. But then ( Read more... )

And what if they do? I suppose you'd rather see cities names "Godless Liberalism" or "Pinko Commie"?

There might be some kind of belief about Jesus coming back to earth at the specific seashell location but I'm not really basing that on anything concrete.

So I read the Wikipedia entry for them, and they don't sound that bad, as breakaway Christian groups go. They seem to be a more liberal version of Mormons, and they don't even necessarily follow the Book of Mormon. It mentions "choose your own theology" (which would make a good alternative to the "choose your own adventure" books). Of course, that article was probably written by someone from the church. Wikipedia = grain of salt.

Next time you skip work for "weather", send that link along to your supervisor. "THIS COULD BE ME! DO YOU WANT THIS TO BE ME?!"

Someone emailed all the Canucks at work with a link to that video.
I blame that for my not-so-productive day.

You work with some of the Vancouver Canucks?!?!? Who knew you could juggle a career in the NHL with a career at Microsoft! Unbelievable!

My favourite parts of that video: the car in the beginning that keeps hitting the gas even though he keeps smashing into cars. And all the pedestrians who are having a great time watching the mayhem.

Maybe he's shifted to reverse? I'm picturing him frantically windmilling his arms backwards while sitting behind the wheel.
