Salty Watch: Part 3

Apr 04, 2008 21:43

Okay I'm cutting it short again, but these things always take me longer than I plan. If you are wondering who Salty is, check out Salty Watch #1 and #2! And if you're still confused, you probably just haven't watched BSG yet, so this will just confuse you even more. Go rent the DVDs instead. Now, for part 3: Season 3.5! Spoilers if you haven't seen the finale!

First up, Measure of Salvation deleted scene! Adama's telling the pilots how they're going to distract the base ship while Lee and his marines shoot the sick cylons.

The pilots are all really excited. Salty included!

He's REALLY happy.

Then Lee mentions that any pilots that have been grounded will be involved in the mission. Oh hey, look who it is!

MISSION STARBUCK INTERACTION ACCOMPLISHED. Best part of his day.

I thought he might not be in any of the other deleted scenes, but then I rewatched the ones for Maelstrom and... tada! Kara's in the firing range, which means Salty can't be far away.

And there he is. His back is turned the entire time, as he is apparently trying to be stealthy about his stalking now. It's hard to be stealthy when you stick out that much, Salty.

Definitely Salty. Hooray!

Now on to the scenes that actually made it to the show... yeah there's only two in the last half of s3. In the same episode. Dammit.

Spot the Salty!

There he is! He's late. Apparently he only showed up because all the pilots in the universe went to this briefing (seriously, since when are there that many pilots alive, let alone ones that actually show up for this stuff?) and so there was no one else to play triad with.

He did, however, manage to make plans with Narcho for a game later, so all in all it was a success.

He rushes in to take the seat that Helo formerly occupied before he found out about Hot Dog's STD. Good timing, Salty! Two pilots away from Starbuck. Not bad.

He can count!! This briefing is so fun, he seems to be thinking!

And then it gets lame when Lee announces they're all going to have to do drills. He hates this part.

He really hates this part.

He looks so down about it that Helo gives him shoulder pats. People really like patting him.

Then later on in the episode you can see him stalking Kara some more in the hangar bay:

Sneaky!

Other than that, he doesn't show up at all in the last half of the season. I did find him in another scene in the Passage though.

He may have had a rough time with all that radiation, but at least there's clapping right now which always means everyone will head back to the rec room afterwards for at least a game of triad, at best an orgy.

That's it, though. Which leaves me worried. Salty hasn't been seen even once since Starbuck got blown up!!

He's not in the rec room. Which is just wrong.

He's not even hiding in a corner or something.

He's not one of the pilots in the many shots of crowded hallways.

He's not in the hangar bay.

Not then either.

Or then.

He's not in the court room attending the lecture on how to measure loss.

He's not in the gym.

Or in the ready room.

And he is not hiding under a raptor.

He has always been within a 30 foot radius of Starbuck, and now she's gone! What's he supposed to do? Poor Salty. I only hope he will feel that she is back and come out from whatever dark closet he is hiding in and return to the rec room for season 4. 20 minutes to the premiere, maybe he will appear! If not, I'm going to start putting up posters.
