Last night, I went over to Adam's to find him burning some scrap wood and brush in his backyard. After that, he planned on hauling out the pump for his pool and draining out the rainwater that had collected in the tarp (it's an above-ground pool that he drains and tarps over for winter ( Read more... )

Good for you! Yeah, some of 'em were bound to be eaten anyway. But, at least this way some have a chance to survive.

That's what I hope. I figure at least a few will live, grow into frogs, lay eggs of their own (hopefully not in the pool again), and start another generation of tadpoles that will make up for all the ones that the fish ate.

The neighbors and Adam think I'm a little crazy now, but I wouldn't have been able to bear letting all those little guys get killed by the pump.

I tend to be the same way. Hell, I usually scoop up spiders and put them outdoors when I find them inside, avoid anthills when I spot them... but flies? smash! n.n;

awww... you just helped them complete their part in the circle of life.

I wouldn't have been able to let them be vacuumed up either.
