blessed time difference!

this had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. the scene was so realistic and lucius and draco were so absolutely canon.

so this is what abraxas was upto? he is not one of my favorite characters but even with such few words you gave us a great insight into what makes him tick.

another excellent chapter. god, i love this verse.
THANK YOU!!!

Thank you so much, wildegirl_05! :D

No one likes Abraxas much, it seems. *schnoogles him*

i find my own reaction to abraxas hard to explain (in case you were wondering *g*).

his thinking and actions resemble canon!draco to me. i adore canon!draco. and i feel that you've written abraxas far more sympathetically than rowling does draco. yet i haven't taken to him.

i wonder if it's the harry in him? that somehow this progeny of harry and draco may take all the charecteristics we love in them and still turn out to be not very likeable *ponders*

if so, i would consider him a great writing achievement. esp for the genre.

Oh? Does the genre mostly have sugar-sweet, have-to-like them, Mary/Gary Sue children? I admit the few mpregs I've read have all the same cookiecutter children that make me spew because they're so...characterless, you know? Maybe it's just me. But I think that any sort of children, mpreg or not, can and should be fleshed out into real people.

ahhhhh!!!!! you fucking idiot, abraxas!!! *hexes him* "i just wanted to know"--pffft! better think before acting. god, i knew that kid was trouble. he has absolutely no idea what he has done just now. none.

my heart breaks for draco. so utterly shocked and frozen that he can't even say he's not ashamed of his children, who he loves so much. that was truly the worst part.

i love that pyrrha draws her wand against lucius. *applauds*

and harry...i do wonder what he thinks now.

Thank you, coffeejunkii!

Poor Abraxas, taking the brunt of readers' antagonism. Anyway- Harry, yes, you'll find out what he thinks soon enough. ;)

Oh, it's such a depressing chapter. I hate Draco. He lost all personality faced with his father, only skin and bones left, brrr. I thought his own children mattered more. Meh [goes to hide under the bed]

Ah, I'm saddened you hate Draco, painless_j. He has his reasons. But thank you!

Hello,

First comment here (first as "I didn't comment here, before" ^^).
I adore your story, I find it gripping and highly entertaining.

After this chapter, I really hope that you'll give back Draco his pride. I know it's not what the majority thinks, but for what I see Draco is nothing. No pride, no conviction, he refuses to fight for what he prefers (and not only with Lucius but with all his family), I was really glad Lucius came back like that. I hope it will give him back his fire. To me Draco Malfoy is not suppose to be this dull and I really hate it that he doesn't fight against the muggle-isation of his life ( ... )

i really disagree with your assessment of draco here. the way draco's life turned out is a result of really complex circumstances, and it really speaks to the fact that life rarely turns out the way you planned it. the way this story captures that insight and puts it on display in an unapologetic way is one of the things that makes this story so gut-wrenching.

the encounter with lucius, imo, showed how some things in the past cannot be left behind, and have us in a tight grip even though we think we have long moved past them.

finally, draco is most certainly not "someone's breeding program."

Yeah, I can see that.
I understand that often life doesn't turn like we expect it but the way Draco doesn't react is really "upseting".

finally, draco is most certainly not "someone's breeding program."

*amused*

I know but in this life, his only achievement are his children. What I don't understand is how doesn't he ressent his lack of personal success. He's not even angry, he's just dull. That's why I hope Lucius' return will ignite a new spark in him.

After 18 years, it's time he moves forward one way or another.

ps : I hope the author will not see it as insulting it's not what I want.

but draco does react, all the time. he does little things, like in the last chapter, for example, when he brews the potion that's supposed to make james like him better. i see so much struggle throughout the entire story, and so much agonizing with himself over his life. why do you say draco's not angry? he's angry at so many points.

are children not enough of an achievement? are they not a personal success? right at the beginning of the story, draco's choice to fulfill all the lessons he's been taught is to have a child, not to do something else. i do think he'd consider his children a personal success.

i think draco's been moving forward all the time. he's finally come to a point where he's settled into his life and what it is, and perhaps has found some sort of happiness [which doesn't mean that he's blissfully happy or has acquiesced, but rather thatnhe is content with his family]. then lucius shows up and it all goes to hell yet again.
