After having another wonderfully inane chat with siriaeve on technopop, BF!Harry's theme song, the way of Zen, and vodka, I felt good and ready to tackle my ripoff original fic. (was that an oxymoron or what?)

*shrugs* I like it. Very effectively worded, and your narration says a lot about Joe. Awesome description, too. Nice work, if the opinion of a stranger means anything. ;)

I'd expect a massive smackdown of Antoine's ego later on in the story, if there is a later 'on'. That's my first impression, that Antoine just wants to be crazy 'cos it's cool. Like he watched 'American Beauty' and 'Pi' and all those arthouse things, but deep inside he probably has a secret fetish for Ally McBeal and Ace Of Base or something.
'Antoine can get violent when you contradict him.' Mwahaha.

I like these lines:
'He says he doesn't exist and tries to prove it by standing in the middle of traffic.'
'Antoine knows this, but it doesn't stop him from screaming all 12.7 miles to the hospital.'
'When you're dying, I guess, you don't care too much about whether your life exists or not.'
'Why can't she understand that the last thing we need is something to keep us together? Having children would prove we were a couple.'

:D Danke. I'm trying to be quotable and witty, admittedly, and you have not yet felt the full force of my randomosity yet. ;)

American Beauty was sort of weird. But I watched it second-handedly while trying to be on the computer at the same time and my parents were in the room and making embarrassing comments like, "You're peeking, aren't you?" and laughing meanly. *sulks*
