Just saw Callum Keith Rennie on a very early episode of The X-Files. He plays the brother-in-law who gets killed by the body-switching bad guy in that one where Scully's old boyfriend is shot in a bank robbery. Hmmm...do we have to cut for twelve-year-old X-Files spoilers?

Dude, get the Starburst editions. SO much less expensive. Three collections per season, each collection is about $20 apiece.

Plus they have more commentaries than the original editions! I'm with Carrie; definitely the way to go.

I am all asquee re: the spoilery Stargate picture. Heeeeee!

Also, I third the rec for the Starburst editions. The original ADV box sets are very expensive and only have 2 episodes per disc, so they're also pretty bulky. The Starburst editions have new commentary in addition to all of the extras and features included in the original box sets, and they're much more compactly packaged on top of being a lot less expensive. You can find sets (of which there are three per season) on deepdiscountdvd.com and amazon for ~$17-$20. The third set for Season 4 hasn't been released yet, but it should be out by October or November.

Looks like it's unanimous! I'm going to start looking for the Starbursts right away. Thank you for the rec - I'm still baffled as to why the bulky, inferior edition would be so much more.

I KNOW!!! It's ridiculous how excited I am about this; I'm afraid I'll be making noises in a register only dogs can hear.

The house that put out the original box sets, ADV, is apparently a pretty small-time, mostly-anime operation. They certainly did a wierd job on the box sets. (The menu navigation on the first two seasons is really, really strange; a teenager with some freeware DVD authoring software could probably do a better job.) I don't think they anticipated as much demand for Farscape DVDs as there has been, and that's why they started reissuing them--the price point was a major obstacle to sales.

You've seen this one too, right? I don't think I'm ever going to be able to uncouple the association between "Tin Man" and "codpiece" now. THANKS, STARGATE!

OH. MY. GOD. I- I hadn't seen that. OHMYGOD.

a) Wow. They made the Tin Man costume all muscle-y and...endowed. Ahem. It certainly is right out there, isn't it?
b) Why are all the dogs in my neighborhood barking?
c) Finally, the pigtails make sense!
