They bus in the navigators from the women's prison because otherwise it would be too homoerotic

As a quick note, I have to say that I suspect that Death Race could potentially be the worst movie ever created.

I may need to see this in person.

Yeah...it just looks so...bad.

And then they give it a name like "Death Race" which sounds more like a parody movie name than a real movie.

Yes! From the name to the premise, this movie just screams "Awesomely BAD!"

In my ideal world it would have the tag-line "It's not just a race...it's a *death* race." Then I might just have to see it.

Well, name wise, it is a remake of Death Race 2000, that Stallone and Carridine movie.

The thought that someone needed to remake a movie called Death Race only makes it 100% better.

And the fact that they missed out on the whole year 2000 time to make it. The original movie came out in like '83 or something.

I just looked it up on IMDB, and apparently it came out in 1975. It was made by Roger Corman, and it sounds way, way better thought out that the current version. Which is really sad.

*Gasp* Manos: the Hands of Fate. Or have you already forgotten???

Oh w8, you said ever "created" not ever "made"... the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences would definitely discriminate between the two.

This movie has infinitely better production values, but I would still prefer to see it in an episode of MST3K.

Oh my GOD, this movie looks amazing. And inexcusably terrible. But I concur- this may need to be seen firsthand.

The more I think about it, the more I think about actually going to see it. When it's in late run, in the middle of the night, and possibly after happy hour. For my sanity, you see.

Wait, isn't this The Running Man but with cars and without Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Having made the exact same analogy to a friend, I have to say: yes. Yes, it is.
