Movie Review: Watchmen

Watchmen is sometimes great*, sometimes good**, sometimes meh***, and sometimes pretty awful****.

But they left out my favorite scene, and for that I may never forgive them )

You might actually be at a disadvantage, not reading the graphic novel, at least in regards to seeing everything that goes into the plot. It took reading several reviews for me to get this, but I was making logical leaps about the plot because I already knew everything that was happening. It was disappointing to people who hadn't read it before.

People leaping out of fridges makes everything better.

Aww, nobody liked ol' Ozy. I kinda did. He was rather too young, but I sorta liked his creepy blonde vibe thing. But maybe I just like Matthew Goode. IDK.

Has Matthew Goode been in something else well known enough that I might have seen him before? I hadn't had any experience with his abilities before, and it could just be he rubbed me the wrong way in this role.

He's in Imagine Me and You and Match Point (which sucks, but he's all right in it) and Brideshead Revisted, which is all right...give him a try. ;)

Well, it does try really hard, so it does have that going for it. There's so much in there, you have to believe someone cared a lot about what they were doing.

Good luck! I hope it is the correct type of over the top bad!

I think Patrick Wilson is best when singing. Especially when singing Rodgers and Hammerstein or the like. Otherwise, excepting The Alamo, I've not been terribly impressed by his staright roles. But he can sing to me all day...

I don't think I've ever heard him sing. What would you recommend?

Well, he was in the revival of Oklahoma for a while. He was also in Lucky In The Rain, The Full Monty, and then he's on the recent Allegro Complete Recording. He was also Raoul in POTO (movie). But the song in which he stole my heart was Artificial Flowers from the 2000 revival of Tenderloin. (Which is not R&H, but that style of music seems to suit him best.)

Wait, he was Raoul? Wow, then I have seen him. Well, he certainly has range, even if he couldn't muster any chemistry with Malin Akerman.
