[ in english, though repeated afterwards in (slightly formal and probably at least somewhat outdated) japanese. ]

It seems that I misjudged you raw materials.

Or rather, my expectations of you seem to have been slightly wrong.  In your place-- away from home, trapped here-- it would be expected that you would band together, to make sure of your own ( Read more... )

[...lawl]

Raw materials again? [There's something of a smile in her childish voice.] Is that what you call [...] us?

[She doesn't like lumping herself in with the rest of the rabble, but oh well.]

[ you crazy kids and your violent urges. ]

Though many of those here seem to quite dislike the term, I am rather accustomed to it. And it does seem to fit especially well, given the situation.

[ sounding rather pleasant, as he tends to, not at all apologetic about his use of the term. ]

[ oh, of course. u__u very sorry. ]

Funny how people can do that, ya know, exceed expectations thing. Surprise, surprise. {He doesn't take kindly to being considered 'material' and that response is dripping with attitude.}

What else do you suppose we do? Close ourselves off in our apartments and mourn or weep until we die? We have to make the best of this somehow. DO something. It's not like we have much more of a choice. May as well make it our home to the fullest.

I am used to things not going as expected, in some ways-- though this was not entirely an instance of my expectations being exceeded.

Such ideas would be of little help. Rather, I was wondering if grasping at what you lost is able to bring you happiness.
