...You think the scientists brought us here for a purpose?

It is highly unlikely that there is no purpose, minor as it may be. The fact that their title of "scientists" had been bestowed on them by their subjects here also indicates such a thing.

...I'd always thought it was a title they'd given themselves.

They seem to accept any title they are given, without question...I believe the title of "scientist" was one given to them as a result of their seeing those here as "experiments."

A lot of people rather face an unknown then sit around worrying over it. At least if they go after it, there's that small satisfaction that you did something about it.

It seems more likely that nothing truly will change as a result of the actions of these raw materials, no matter the effort they put in.

Oh but it will. Just because it might not be a physical change; just having some sort of a victory over fate can bolster a person's confidence.

That keeps people from falling into thoughts of being stuck or even hopelessness.

That feeling of hopelessness...despite the amount of those here that attempt nothing, and those who are aware that as much as they may try, they can accomplish nothing, it is not truly present here. As such, you may be right about that. However, there are some things that will never change, as long as we remain here.

The unknown is only scary because your imagination likes to play tricks on you. It's usually not as scary as you think.

There is no true way to tell whether or not looking into the unknown will result in something pleasant-- however, it is more likely, given the nature of this place, that any results will be unpleasant.

I don't think so.

Oh? Why is that?

The selection of people they have chosen is for entertainment purposes. It sounds as though the Scientists have some taste if this is truely the case.

Then again, meeting things head-on is often called foolishness, is it not?

Entertainment? It is possible-- all they have truly admitted is that we are here in accordance with their experiments. Of course, some of their choices seem quite...suspect, though I am sure they have their reasons. All the same, as long as the nature of their experiments are unknown, the wisdom of their selections is, as well.

Foolish as they may be, such a quality of theirs may have been a deciding factor, as well.

One can only guess but perhaps they like to change their choices up so their experiments can not keep track?

Hm. A factor that is quite random. However, I do not complain. If not for it, they would grow tiresome to watch.

It certainly does sound like something they would do. However, if choices are made ultimately without thinking of the end result of whatever experiment they are working on, it may end badly for them.

I am not certain of it, but I do agree-- having that type of raw materials around does certainly make things more interesting.

The way the 'raw materials' act? [He sounds curious, if not a bit off. Coughing so much does wear on his throat a bit.]

[ is quite healthy; immortality is a beautiful thing. ]

Many of those here seem very willing to place themselves in possible danger, rather than avoid or ignore it, as they often would.

[Lucky bum.]

Ah, well... I envy them being so willing to rush out into danger. [As he's not one of those people. Maybe some day, but for now, he just hides in the apartment when shit hits the fan.]

[ isn't he just? ]

Is it so difficult, for you to go with them?

[ he has People for that. back home. ]
