I had a fantastic weekend.
marc_e_heuck's birthday party was super fun. I'll post some pics if Jonathan ever emails them to me. What a killer house. He has an entertainment room that has an old fashioned high back chair in it that's built hugely oversized so that when you sit in it you feel like a 6-year-old. I was hoping to hop in the hot tub but by the time it was warm enough I was super tired and went to bed.
On Saturday morning and afternoon, I modeled for an art class. It was way more fun than I anticipated. Everyone was super nice. So I'm hoping to find more work like that. If anyone knows an art teacher that might need a model for their class, please let me know.
Saturday night was the event at Bluespace. I can't believe it's been a year since I've seen nycbluegirl. Highlights included a topless chick bellydancing with a huge snake draped around her and a model in latex pants, an AMF Corset, and a George Bush mask skull fucking a model of George Bush's head with her strap-on. Ahhhh...performance art.
Sunday, I worked with Tobias Hunter who's a total sweetie. We had so much fun. My character was Salome from the Bible combined with a circus geek who bites the heads off of chickens. So I was standing there holding a dead chicken he bought in China town as though it were the head of John the Baptist. We had a great conversation about Joel Peter Witkins. I adore Witkins. Tobias' work isn't overtly influenced by Witkins, but I think there's definitely a Witkins influence present. I think his work is like Richard Avedon with a just a dash of Witkins and a touch of Richard Kern.
