Snow and stuff.

SNOWWWW!!!!! And more coming this friday!!! I am happy and my car loves being sideways through turns!

Relatedly, I must highly recommend Nokian's Hakkapelitta tires. Combined with my all wheel drive, I have yet to find a hill that makes my car even blink. Today I had to stop going up a very steep, very slick hill, thanks to a big truck that was ( Read more... )

I'm curious how you score on that quiz I posted a link to not-too-long ago... I'm guessing somewhere around +5,-5.

I've had them for a year now, so I can't remember how much I paid, but I think it was around $125 each.

They handle fantastically in all conditions. They seem to last pretty well too. Becuase of how little I drive during the summer, I didn't even bother to take off. I've probably got close to 30k on them with no notable wear.

Foolish brand loyalty? Perhaps...

But I like Nokian tires more now because if you search "nokian" on Google one of the top links is to a promotional video of theirs, and the car they use in the first part of the video is a Saab Viggen.

Yep, a Viggen was all it took for me to pay more attention...

And they're proud of it too: they frame the shot of the guy getting into the car at an odd front-quarter view that makes very little sense unless you realize it's so they can get the Viggen badge in the shot.

If you care, video.

Heh.. can't say I blame you though. I'd think less of them if they used a Hummer to show off their tires.

The video is pretty cool. Makes me want to go driving :-)
