Tonight I went over to my parent's house to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We were eating dinner outside on the back deck because it was nice out. You're spot on.
The kid should be put in line right now. As they grow older, their contempt for rules, their expectancy to have what they want and ability to get away with everything increases exponentially.

I know, I know.
Quite a bit has actually happened. But everytime I sit down to write, it doesnt feel as though the words are flowing.

My policy with my own children would be to let 'em run wild. Someone else will set them straight in their lifetime, probably even before they're out of gradeschool. I want them to like me, or at least not dislike me.

Kids these days are worse off from the lack of good ol corporal punishment. But thats another deal. What are we talking about? Right. Family bonding is the sort of thing that puts a kid down the right track and helps them learn to be social. Giving this kid the idea early on that heading off to watch TV when family or any company is around is not a step in any good direction.
