We took a family road trip to see the sand sculpture competition in a neighboring town. The actual building and judging took place at the beginning of the weekend and we went on Monday, which was a holiday in Canada.
The super big sculptures had started to erode from the weather and the kids at the beach all weekend so we took pics with the smaller ones.
There were tonnes of sculptures.
I loved this hippo one.
Spider-Man was the most detailed of any of the small ones. His crotch looks weird tho.
We all put our feet in Lake Ontario. It is freezing!!!
Jase doesn't care about temperature - as long as it's water he loves it!
We watched a big storm literally roll in. The lifeguards issued a warning and then went off duty.
We weren't afraid of melting in the rain so we walked out on the huge pier to look at the yachts and sailboats.
Then it started to rain. And it rained heavier and heavier as we quickly made our way back to the truck. I'm happy to say we survived being caught in the rain. Jase didn't mind a bit! (Which reminds me of when him and I were at Costco and it was pouring HUGE. We were waiting in the car until the rain let up, but it just kept pouring. I had tried everything to amuse him, toys, nursing, looking out the window, music, but he was starting to get cranky because we were stuck in the car. So I got us together and grabbed my umbrella. As we were wading through the puddles to the front doors, he was leaning out of my arms as far as he could trying to catch the rain that was running off the umbrella. He was loving it! I was not, seeing as how my Birks got soaked and I had to walk around the store and drive home with soaked sandals.)
Wet but happy.
Adam got way more soaked than me. Probably because I was wearing my ring sling in anticipation of carrying Jase.
This baby got on a dry shirt and had a great time!
On the way home we stopped for lunch which was the first time Adam braved a restaurant with Jase. It was a double whammy as well because I ended up nursing Jase in the restaurant (nursing in public, or in front of anyone for that matter, freaks Adam out for some reason) and nothing bad ended up happening - shocker :p It was a good thing too, because we went to my brother's birthday dinner in the evening which was another restaurant. Jase was great both times :)
