Have you tried the Genius feature in iTunes 8? It pretty much rocks my socks straight off. I selected Modest Mouse' "Ocean Breathes Salty" to create a playlist around, here are the results....

Yeah, I've been ignoring the update for quite sometime...once I checked out how kickass the feature was, I was a little disappointed that I waited for so long.

Have you used pandora online? They've been doing this for a while, and it's great fun. Oh, and it's free ;-)

I've never heard of pandora online. I'm not the hippest kid on the block.

Awww, you're hip in my book. :-D

check it out. it's just pandora.com. it's really cool. You can use it in addition to genius, and maybe find super awesomeness. Of course, pandora doesn't have the same size library, but it's still fun, especially while at work and unable to access itunes.

By the way, if you ever head to the Houston area, let us know. It'd be great to see you again.
