your words move me. when i feel stressed next week, i will throttle down the walls of my cubicle to symbolize growth, scream "I AM NOT A TOY ROBOT ON AUTOPILOT" and escape... only to be trampled to death by football people.

And I will watch contentedly, knowing that my wisdom has helped another person escape the dreariness of their existence...into the oblivion and shame of being trampled to death by tourists.

since you mentioned tai-chi,

I need to start doing tai-chi, yoga or pilates. It sucks though cuz its tough to get into the game like that..especially with classes at ever time of the day! but I have friends who are involved in stuff like that and they love it and are leaner than me :) hehe. For now, daily excersize and eating healthier will have to do though! Oh the woes of being a female in this barbie driven world!

FYI, Tai Chi is not the way to go if you're looking to get leaner. Sure, it can give you a workout, but unless you train hardcore it's not going to help too much in terms of body fat levels. However, as you implied in your title, it's a great way to improve both your mind and body. Believe it or not, I used to weigh 210 back in high school and let me tell you it wasn't all muscle! Nowadays, I'm hovering around 165. I'm still not lean enough in my opinion... And poo poo on Barbie! If you're happy with your body the way it is and you're healthy, who has the right to tell you how you should look?

I've read that when immigrants move to the US, they start gaining weight due to various factors. Kudos on deciding to do something about it. The only way to permanently lose fat is to make changes in your lifestyle, and as we all know, change is difficult. I'm gonna resist the urge to dole out advice, since it's best not to give what's not asked for...but if you want some, I gots the goods. Have a good night :)
