Looks like Atari is finally cashing in on the retro craze for real (not that they haven't made attempts before, TV games anyone?). I know they've released anthologies of arcade tittles before and even released an anthology for the computer, but

I just hope it's real, this time. The versions of some of the games on the Toymax Namco controllers were so frustratingly unlike their arcade counterparts it made me want to hurl a bucketful of etherized rabbits at a concrete wall. Well, all right, it didn't make me that mad. It did make me mad, though, and it cost me money.
The fifty-cent charging (if you are lucky), 1981/2001 Reunion Edition of Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga makes me even madder. It's bad enough when home versions are off the mark, but when it's in the arcade . . .
Ah, damn it. I don't care. No. I do. I do, but I don't care that I do. Do I?

My favorite so far is the Nester NES emulator for my Dreamcast. You can even hook up the gun controllers for the DC and play Duck Hunt. It can't play Rygar or Bionic Commando for crap, but I can get my Mario/Link fix on a regular basis now without having to fix the old NES.
Lest I forget, the port of Mame for Dreamcast also includes the real PacMan. No porting there, just straight arcade goodness.
I'm addicted to Icons on G4TV.
