Serendipity is one of the best ways to stumble across the books you didn't know you were going to love. Recommendations from friends are also good, but finding it oneself adds that extra little fillip of cleverness to the joy of the experience.

Okay, will need to add sanderson to the long long list of things I need to read in my copious free time. I like world-builders, especially when it's an original and interesting society.

Being able to wander to the website and get more input from the writer sounds fun too. I want to get the little details that would distract from the storyline but add to the texture of the characters or the world.
