Traveling Dangerously

I've been sending around a google doc of itinerary locations that I've been interested in. This weekend, my dad was kind enough to give me his list of top worldwide destinations. Sigh, I wish Jordan was a little more Westerner friendly, I went and saw the Petra Ruins around 1992 and I've been dying to go back again.

I work with a few people who also live in Malaysia. It is; beautiful, adventures galore, cheap, and not dangerous. Like any destination, you have to be onguard, but not in the sense to stay away.
I still have yet to see Sri Lanka. I had booked tickets in my hand, at the time a lot of buses were getting bombed. Days before I canceled on sudden apprehensiveness and the weekend after a bus was bombed including tourists.
I don't know if I would have been on that bus, but part of me knows why I canceled my tickets.
Another part is full of regret and would still have gone today, and let fate decide, ha ha.

So either way, it depends on you and your spirit and how you trust your instincts. Biggest piece of advice: Follow the news around the area and listen to the locals, not the people around you.
