I know for me, that the last time I attended classes, I powered through them because I had a specific goal in mind. (This would be the one year certificate in accounting I went for so that I could get job that did not involve customer service.)
If you're going for a specific degree or certificate, make sure to keep checking the required courses every quarter because schools change the requirements all the time and never bother to tell the students until the very end when they pull this annoying little stunt of telling you that you're short the required credits and you just need to stay for x number of quarters to get them. The alternative is to get - in writing - the exact course list you must have to get that degree/certificate as of the time you enrolled. They can't really argue with their own paperwork.
