Well, he PLAYED on cool stuff. He didnt write it. Steve Farmer (the other guitar player) did. Tedley insists that he had no idea that the song was about drug use.

Yeah, as soon as I wrote it, I was gonna change the title to "performed." But I was lazy and didn't care enough.

Actually, I think that's just a rumor about Farmer writing it. I checked and every time I see actual writing credits, it has Nugent and Farmer both listed. Though of course Farmer could've written the lyrics... Do you have the vinyl?

i have always hated nugent and have always thought that was his finest moment.
and he has been taking crap for that song for decades with his claims of never doing or supporting drugs.and swearing he had no idea
of it being about any such thing.
