It should be interesting watching how Chavez manages to turn Venezuela into an economic basket case. It's someplace I've always thought about visiting, but guess they'll get my yanqui green someplace else.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070201/

What's sad is that none of the folks they interviewed who support Chavez seems to catch the irony of that they are saying. That country is headed for trouble.

Yes it is. It's already forced to buy oil from Russia just to keep up with the contracts with its customers.

I had always wanted to go there too. I had friends that use to go there for their Caribbean vacations.

Not only are they looking to recreate the great economic miracle of Cuba and Eastern Europe, but there seems to be an anti-American sentiment there too, not my ideal vacation spot. How about Jamaica, Mexico or Belize?

If you want to avoid anti-American sentiment, aren't Eastern Europe, some of Africa, and the South Pacific (where they're too busy being anti-Australian) about the only places left?

I'll have to look into Jamaica, Mexico, and Belize. =p

So you're coming to Jamaica too, then?
