So what's the deal with these temple prep classes? Are they required now or something? I never took a single temple prep class and I still went to the temple with no problem. Of course that was 10 years ago. :-)

They are required here. Ryan also mentioned that they are not really required in his ward which might be why no one wanted to make the time to teach him.
But they were very good classes and I'm kind of glad they make us take them. Frankly, going to the temple for the first time was disorienting enough with all the preparation I had. Every kind and helpful word someone spoke to me beforehand came back to me when I needed it and helped me understand what was going on. I can't imagine how confusing it would have been without all of that.

I don't want to be annoying or anything...I just care. :-) But I have to agree with Dan's email. If your bishop is aware that you guys have a wedding date set, and if you're both worthy, then I think he's really got to do everything he can to make sure you and Ryan can get married in the temple on time. I would express the urgent nature of the matter and see what can be done to get you guys to the temple on Oct. 3rd. :-) Good luck
Carolyn...yet again!

Hey there! I bet you're happy to have Ryan there finally. :-)
Anyway, I was just rereading this post and it just makes me so frustrated with the whole situation. In my opinion your bishop, his counselors and the stake pres. should be bending over backwards to make sure you guys can get to the temple on time. They should be arranging what ever it takes to get these classes done and get the interviews in order. I really hope they are trying to help you guys out. If they aren't, then I truly think they are failing in their duties.
