I didn't even remember about the sonic and wood. And "it doesn't do wood!" is from a Moffat episode in the first place! That's pretty obnoxious.
I don't think I liked this one much, but I only watched it once and I was kind of grumpy and sick. I might try it again. Or I might forget about it altogether because I AM SO EXCITED FOR NEXT WEEK!
I'm just hoping that there was some sort of metal thing on the water barrel that I couldn't see, that's what I'm telling myself. Not that I really care, my scrutiny was more in anticipation of the ubernerds going ALERT! ALERT!
Yeah, the episode wasn't fantastic but I've sort of got to the point where I could watch Karen and the babes doing anything and I would enjoy myself. Hah. I'm sure you know what I mean. ;)
I'm not even a Neil Gaiman fan anymore and yet I am really excited for next week's episode.
I really want it to be an Our Mrs. Reynolds situation. ("Doctor Smith...I am your wife.") I like the way you think.
I'm interested in hearing your Game of Thrones thoughts. I tried to read the book and ended up throwing it down in disgust a couple of chapters in because I just cannot do epic fantasy anymore. I haven't even attempted to watch the show because I know I could never love it as much as everyone else seems to. I feel so left out! (On a related, blerg-epic-fantasy note, I hate that Lee Pace was cast in The Hobbit because now I have to care about it! I mean, it's good that he's aiming a little higher than Twilight and Marmaduke but...)
I am so bad, all I really know of Gaiman is that everyone loves him, and I adored both Stardust and Coraline, and also the trailer looks INSANE. But I doubt it'll be like Our Mrs. Reynolds, unfortunately.
As for GoT, I have never read the books but I am enjoying the series. I always loved high fantasy as a kid (though like you I don't really seek it out now) and my feelings on the show are mostly just anticipation of what will come, though I am really starting to love Peter Dinklage's character...and okay, a good handful of them.
When it comes to Lee Pace, however, I shrieked when I read he'd been cast in The Hobbit. I looooved the LotR films and while I've never been able to finish reading any of the books (oops) I am super excited for Martin Freeman and New Zealand and all that. Lee has had a depressingly awful cv as of late, HOWEVER, he is currently on Broadway in a play (Larry Kramer's A Normal Heart) that has been getting rave reviews. I will let you know the minute I see it. :)
I know! I love them so much. But what makes it even better is that Murray Gold tweeted, "Oh my God, they killed Kenny Rory!" and I think I saw a Doctor-Who-as-South-Park drawing on the official tumblr. Bless.

@steven_moffat Great episode... But will you PLEASE stop killing rory?
No.
@steven_moffat Stop trying to kill Rory! You're giving me a complex! Every time he's on screen I am concerned about his chances of survival.
Good.
