hey, im bored. umm, i created a method to interpolate from discrete rain gauge data a surface which models rain fall across a geographic area. i also fitted a function to that surface so that i can integrate to get a volume of rain fall. my boss only wanted me to get a rough approximation, but i have been waiting a week for oakland county to ( Read more... )

no, no its not, a square mile. thats why it was necessary for me to collect the data from a number of rain gauges spread throught all of oakland county and interpolate a surface from the data. then the challenge was to find a form of a function that best represents rain pattern.
