Voting Independent does not a revolution make. The American Revolution was a separatist, or if you will, an independence movement. A revolution is the total upheaval of a government or ruling system and replacing it with another. A vote will not do this.

True revolution is violent, nasty, and brutish. The resulting new governments do not last long: they either fail or become repressive. However, it takes one generation to prove that wrong.

i wasnt really suggesting a true revolution, just a tweak, something that keeps our goverment intact and is accomplishable by the voters.

Who the fuck said anything about voting?

This is about the common man, I.E. the middle and lower classes rising up against the self-serving Oligarchy that has formed in the last 170 years. Returning the government to its' original intention which is to serve the people, not be serviced by the people.

Hm. The government is finally acheiving what they started one hundred years ago. So I ask you, who are we to destroy dreams? Its like ripping disney land away from a cancer kid, and no matter how many times we tell them "No, really. Disney Land sucks ass and Mickey Mouse is a goddamn fraud", they still want to go and witness the magic/mayhem. Its all about who has the funds these days, and Disney is the highest bidder.

But, I can never pass up a good chance for a revolution, so I'm with you.

Vive le revolucion.

Great! We'll have an agrarian revolt! You bring a pitchfork, Lehmann will bring a spade and I'll bring a torch!

It's easy, in righteous angst and fervor, to lose sight of reason. This is not an enemy, nor is it a circumstance, that can be outdone in the way that our anger wills it accomplished. You're smart, Sean. In several ways you're smarter than I. When the let-down, burnout stage sets in, use it. You may come up with a real solution that we armchair philosophers with little or no study in law, economics, science or engineering have yet to fathom.
