I believe that if one decides to impose ones moral beliefs on another regarding the birth of their child, that person must then be willing to involve ones self beyond the birth as well. All too often I notice that pro-lifers demand the protection of a life inside the womb, but once the child exits the womb that protection ends and the parent is all ( Read more... )

i came up with arguments to this but every time i finished one they looked too much like attacks as opposed to arguments of a statement.

i think i'll continue to surpress my tendencies to play devils advocate along with any personal beliefs.

I certainly think we should take a good hard look at the foster care system before we take away a womans right to choose. Its a crap shoot- foster parents are under-qualified, under-paid, and nobody wants to do it. Plus, those who think about adoption think about cute little babies- not the damaged 9 year olds who cant trust and love and don't know how to follow a routine or rules (not their own fault) - and nobody wants them. When people say pro-life they often ignore what happens after the baby is born. Much of the time, its not pretty, and those babies are unloved and thrown away. If you want pro-life then invest in foster care and children services. Thats morality.
