If someone close to you lied to you, you caught them and tried to confront them about it, but they turned it around and tried to convince you you were wrong about it when you KNEW you were right, what would you do?
Generally, the way I usually find these situations end is when one party says a good, loud, and hearty "F*** you" to the other and then leaves the situation entirely, putting everything behind them. It's that damaging.
However, if it's an immediate blood relative, disowning is just too tough. Forgiveness is the best idea if that is the case...but only if it's blood.
i would get really pissed at them. and then (depending on my mood) i would write a 5 paragraph persuasive essay for why i know they lied and support it with everything i could possibly know. but that takes a long time... so then i go with tammi's idea.
I would accept that they have some reason for wanting to pretend things are however they say they are, accept that they have some sort of problem, and, as long as its not anything major they're lying about, forget about it. There are worse things in life to worry about. Just note for future reference that they are not particually trustworthy.
i would probably be mad for a while, yell some, be angry, let them know i "hate" them, and then say whatever, but never in my life forget what they did.
