I paid market price for a vintage rhinestone brooch today. I almost never do that, but it reminded me of a cnidarian, or maybe prehistoric crinoid. I want to own pretty much every rhinestone brooch ever made, but I just can't say no to the ones that remind me of marine invertebrates.

My friend I hope you have a wonderful journey and birthday. Consider Sicily as well on your map of friends to visit?
Buon compleanno!

also, I cannot wait to take you to the $5 bling store. I don't know when that's going to happen, but it's going to be awesome.

You're a crinoid fan? I have approximately 1 ton of crinoids in my attic, from a local fossil-hunting place. (If that link doesn't work, taking out the hyphen might help--it's been a while since I've been to the web site.) If you don't mind, I'll add you so in future we might discuss Devonian-era invertebrates!
