How have you been, sweetie? I haven't spoke with you in ages.
Yes the white casting was a little off putting, but Benedict acted circles around everyone else so I can handle it. There were more irksome racial moments for me, but such is always the case with the sci-fi genre.
and I didn't see the Star Trek movie either, and I heard it was less philosophical like the old Trek was. An important part of it to me. So I decided to wait until later to watch. I didn't really want to see Wrath of Khan entirely done again just uh, lesser.
The whitecast was irksome, but not nearly as irksome as it could have been IMO, considered that Khan was never played by an Indian man in the first place - original Trek got it wrong too. Not saying that new Trek couldn't have remedied that mistake, but...like...I was honestly too distracted by the fact that they WORD FOR WORD REMADE FUCKING WRATH OF KHAN towards the end like a bunch of snickering lazy asses, and my blind rage takes up all the pissiness I care to give.
The entire theater was groaning. Especially because the movie had been pretty damn good up until that point - the direction they were taking had potential, even though it's still annoying that he was Khan, because he was white and it was just so predictable and didn't really make any fucking sense. But even THAT could have been okay had they just....not fucking remade the Wrath of Khan. I really liked Benedict Cumberbatch in it, he did an awesome job, but why did he have to be Khan, goddammit(aside from Khan, they did do a pretty good job of keeping a diverse
