I like this. I have been experimenting with stream of consciousness on and off--I just find myself preferring unruly prose :) I especially like the girl in the bar and her look (reminds me of a song by the Boss). And the line 'packrat of acquaintances'--yes.

stream of consciousness is primarily what i work with, it's difficult though, because real life starts to blend with memory starts to blend with hopes and the rest, but in the end it's always about who i am rather than what i'm experiencing.

that is what SOC is all about, letting it all blend together, not fighting what your subconscious wants to put down. Reading Kerouac and Burroughs really opened me up and knocked my internal censors unconscious. :)
