Now that the storm is over and there are no immediately pressing matters at hand (other than our failure to be rescued), I find myself turning to more...academic pursuits.

Please don't mind the containers of glowing insects in the caves. I am determining the optimal environmental and feed conditions for the greatest luminescence.

Depending on how long the effects of luminescence last, we might be able to stick a group in a mason jar and use them in tiki torches to light along paths between prominent locations on the island.

Yanagi-kun.... do they have to be in all the caves? It might be safer ... hygienic ... better to not have them in the infirmary.

They are contained and will harm no one. Besides, surely you cannot object to an additional source of light?

I prefer my light sources to look less dangerous.

They are hardly going to explode. And I am sure your patients are old enough not to put them in their mouths.
