JY got asked to be part of the Honor Guard. It sounds like a good opportuinity. Should he take it? If anyone knows about this let me know. He has to make a decision by Thursday.

Hey Steph,
I may be a good thing in that he may get out of some of the crappy bootcamp duties and routines while performing his honor guard duties. That may be a good thing.

He'll still have to finish bootcamp, and then we would be statined in VA for two years.

Oh, I gotcha. So the Honor Guard duty would be AFTER he completes bootcamp. Would his taking this Honor Guard duty postpone/delay his training school he's hoping to get into? Is being on the Honor Guard a favored duty? Would it make his service record look good? Would it help him get promoted quicker? So many questions, eh?

Good luck and we'll continue to pray for you guys.

much love

The Honor Guard would be his job for the next two years. Then he would go directly to whichever school he chooses and after that gets to choose where he wants to be stationed. One of his officers was in the Honor Guard for the Air Force and said it is a good choice. There are only 63 Honor Guard members and each of the Military services is a part of it. So it is suppose to be an accomplishment to be asked to be a part of it. He won't get promoted while he is in the Honor Guard, but once it is finished it will help him to get promoted once he's back with the Coast Guard for the remaaining four years or longer.

I'm glad you will be able to be at church on Sunday. The new preacher is young, but I like him. And his new arrival is suppose to be there for the first time on Sunday as well. I'm excited.
