for someone such as myself who has a decent amount of TV overlap with someone such as yourself, do you think i might enjoy doctor who?
(don't hit me but i'd never even heard of it until recently. i'm not a huge sci-fi person. i love battlestar galactica and almost loved torchwood. i used to love shows like quantum leap and...that's all i can think of right now.)
I think you should at least give it a try. It's way better than Torchwood ended up being, so if you almost loved that you probably will love DW. The sci-fi often lands on the campy side, but the humor and the characters make up for it. Plus Captain Jack is a million times more awesome on DW than what I've seen of him on Torchwood. :p And the great thing about the new series is that you don't really need to even know anything about the old stuff to dive in, because I'd never seen any Doctor Who at all before I started watching the new stuff, and I ended up really loving it.
The beginning of the first series started out a little slow for me, but if you can stick it out to episode 8 or so, the last run of episodes are really good.
Oh. My. Gosh. I'm watching Supernatural right now (I have the DVD set) and I just randomly found you by searching for people who like extra sharp cheddar cheese (Yeah, I had nothing else to do.) And you are in love with the same shows me and all my friends are.
OK, so I may be a complete random stranger. But come on, how weird is that?

I can't keep on doing Fireflicons by myself. I know you're prob busy still, so I'm going to announce winners on Monday & that we're going on haitus again unless you tell me different. (I don't mind putting together the voting post nearly as much as I don't dig figuring out the winners.) Anyway, just wanted to say something to both of you just in case you've got enough time to come back to it n stuff.

Hi! Sorry, I'm not sure I have the time (or energy) to keep up with it myself anymore, either. It's a lot of work for one person to handle, you've been doing a great job. I totally understand the need to put it on hiatus, though. ;)
'Tis Elise; hope you remember me. Thought I'd friend you since we seem to have many things in common. Also I'm making you the John Barrowman Kit of DOOM. How much of Torchwood have you seen?

I think Cyberwoman may have been the last episode I saw, but it might've been the one after that.
