[ Following this post for help, Riou has taken to helping Jowy with his trusty flying squirrel friend, Mukumuku. Tonfa twirling blindingly fast, Riou beats at the things expertly. Jowy, however, is knelt on the ground -- wounded, catching his breath? It is a mystery.

[The moment Riou's rune's power fades away, darkness gathers around where Jowy's knelt on the floor and, suddenly, it's bright except for the black sun-like orb, which begins to emit dark shards.

When the light comes back, Jowy's on his feet, though he doesn't quite look steady. For the moment, the harpies are hesitating.]

It looks like it's effective... They don't seem to like the dark. [A breath. He spits blood before he looks at Riou.] Take the kids and run.

[everhoping]

[ sdklsdkl;asdmkl;asdkl; Blood. Riou shakes his head. There was no way he was leaving Jowy behind. ]

I already called for more help. I'll hold them back with you. I won't leave you behind!

[stillprotecting]

[It's starting to get harder to breathe again, but out of the corner of his eyes, he sees the harpies moving once more.

He sucks in a breath and calls on the Rune once more - and the sky goes black. Except for the flaming swords.

The use of power, however, sends him back to his knees, coughing even as he's getting unsteadily back on his feet.]

You've got to go. I don't know how long I can --

[ Is it the rune? Riou doesn't have time to think too much about how weak Jowy suddenly is as the harpies try to pick at them again. He blocks first, using his tonfa to bat at the flesh-eating things before resorting to his rune to keep them at bay.

He kneels down and loops Jowy's arm around his shoulder. ]

Let's go go back.

[ SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE THAN TEXT ME, RIOU. Not that Tyr is going to say that as he comes running onto the scene, staff in hand, as the light blinds him. ]

You need to heal him and get out of here, Riou! I'll hold those things off for you.

[ BUT BUT BUT. JOWY WAS PANICKING. AND HE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS ABOUT TO KAMIKAZE. I HURRIED SO HE WON'T SIMULTANEOUSLY COMBUST :( ]

I can't leave you alone too, Tyr!

[ /protest protest. But honestly, he thinks Tyr can hold up these guys more than Jowy can 8D ]

[ Of course he can. Tyr uses his stick better. He'd be using his non-spoiler-causing rune better, too, if he wasn't talking to you. ]

[Someone is having a harpy shooting spree with his bow and arrow.]

Hey, you two better be safe there!

Ted! We're okay!

[ So he saaaayssss! ]

Your friend doesn't sound okay! [A pause as the sound of a groaning harpy fills the air. Yeah, this old man here has perfect aim.] Is Tyr there with you?

I know he doesn't... but we're at a safer place now. I'm taking care of him-
