‘I’m giving her another chance, Aid.’ As soon as Matt finished talking to her he got his phone to ring Aiden. ‘Just.. just be careful.’ He answered. Matt chuckled. ‘Of course I will. I won’t let her hurt me again.’ ‘If she will I will kill her.’ He said immediately. ‘I’ll be fine. It’s just dinner, nothing special.’ Aiden sighed deeply. ‘Okay fine. Anyway, I got to go now. I still need to unpack my things.’ ‘Alright, but don’t unpack too much.’ ‘Why not?’ ‘Because I want to help!’ ‘Yeah, right!’ ‘No, really I do!’ ‘You absolute sap! But fine, alright. Will you be coming over tomorrow?’ ‘Yeah, see you later.’ ‘Bye Matthew Sheridan Cardle.’ ‘Don’t call me that!’ Aiden started laughing. ‘Bye!’ ‘See ya, Grimshaw.’
Aiden unpacked a few boxes and finally took a break. He decided he deserved a break. He put on his jacket, and went out for cigarettes. He had been walking for a while now when he suddenly noticed something. A little group of girls were standing together in a corner, smoking and talking. It was just that one particular girl stood out.
He fastened his walk and finally approached them. ‘What the hell are you doing here?’ He asked confused. She laughed at him in pity. ‘What do you think? Hanging out with my girls.’ Aiden felt his body getting numb, trying to hold in his anger. ‘You were supposed to meet Matt. You didn’t forget, did you!?’ ‘Of course not! I just don’t feel like seeing him.’ ‘So you decided to ditch him?’ He spat out in disbelief.
How could she do that! Matt gave her another chance, one that she didn’t even deserve. ‘Yep.’ She said without a doubt or a worry and gave me a smile. ‘You’re a fucking, filthy bitch.’ He was furious. He wanted to hurt her so much. Yet, he didn’t. He pushed her aside and quickly walked away. He could hear her laughing behind him but it slowly fade away. He took out his mobile. 19:48. ‘Shit!’ He said out loud. It wasn’t that far away he thought and started running.
‘Aid? What are you doing here?’ Matt whispered. Aiden was breathless. Still trying to catch his breath and tried to calm down. He took a seat, and after he calmed down he looked Matt into the eyes. ‘She’ll be coming soon, Aid. You should go now.’ Matt tried to say nicely. ‘Matt..’ Aiden began. ‘She’s not coming. I’m sorry.’ Matt’s eyes widened. ‘What? Why? Did something happen?’ Matt started to get worried. Maybe something happened to Sarah. Maybe that’s why she wasn’t answering my calls. ‘No, no Matt. It’s not that.’ Aiden said. You are too sweet, you still care about her after what she’d done to you. Aiden’s thoughts wandered around. ‘She-.. I saw her. Just now. I went out to get some cigarettes and I noticed a group of girls.’ Aiden felt his anger growing inside of him. ‘That fucking bitch was just hanging out with her friends. I approached her, and asked why she was there and why she wasn’t with you.’
Aiden couldn’t continue. He looked into Matt’s eyes and it killed him. She hurt him again. The one thing he didn’t want to happen, he never wants to see Matt getting hurt. ‘I’m sorry, Matt. I came here as soon as possible.’ ‘It’s okay.’ His voice cracked. ‘No, it’s not! She didn’t have the right to do that to you! You gave her a chance and she just took advantage of it. She doesn’t even deserve someone like you.’ Matt give him a weak smile. ‘No, it is okay. Now I know how she really is. I can move on now. Just- thanks for coming, Aid.’ ‘Sure thing. If I wasn’t here with you, I was probably beating her up right now.’ ‘What!? Did you do something to her!?’ Aiden sighed and smiled. ‘No, I didn’t Matt. I just called her, what was it again? Oh yeah a fucking, filthy bitch and I pushed her aside to get to you. That’s all.’ Matt chuckled in response. ‘You’re the best.’ ‘I know. Right. You want to get some dinner or do you want to go home and unpack?’ ‘Let’s have some dinner, shall we? I’m starving.’
After a few wines they ended up doing karaoke. Matt took Aiden by his hand and dragged him to the stage. ‘I’ve got you babe? By Sonny & Cher?’ Aiden gasped in shock. Matt nodded happy. ‘You’ll regret this, Matthew.’ ‘Punish me later. Now come on, sing with me, Grimshaw!’
