Yesterday I went to the dentisit willingly, little did I know what he had in store for me.
I've been having some work done on my cap. My brother knocked half my tooth out years ago, the other half is still alive. I wanted a new cap b/c the one I had was old, yellowing, and chipping, and wanted something prettier. When I got a temptorary cap put on it, apparently it got infected and became an absessed tooth 3 weeks ago. I didn't notice the pain so bad b/c I was on antibotics when I was sick and moving to NOLA.
So, my tooth has been very sensitive. Dr. numbs everything, then begins to work on me. The only thing that didnt go numb was this one tooth he has to work on. I can still feel it and it hurts like hell. He seemed amazed I could still feel it. At one point I couldn't feel the rest of my face, but I could feel tears coming out of my eyes and the searing pain from my one tooth. I had a vice-like grip on that chair and kinda felt like I was being tortured. They numb me more and up the gas, take another xray. My tooth was infected in such a way that those nerves were being blocked from getting numbed. I got the major numbing stuff after didn't tear up anymore after that. But I still have to go back and get everything fixed. They gave me more antibotics and some painkillers--which haven't been working up to snuff as of yet. So my root canal is on the 12th of April. I'll be in Mobile for that day, so feel free to call me up anytime before 1pm. After that my face will prolly be numb. I do enjoy eating as much as I can before seeing the dentist, b/c lately after I've seen him I can't eat anything but pudding the rest of the day.
