BACKGROUND: Alfred was born a few minutes older than twin brother Matthew to well off mutant parents, and spent his earliest years being a normal child, getting into trouble, piling up china that should really not be piled up, and generally being happy. When he was five, however, his parents were killed by an anti-mutant vigilante group while Alfred and Matthew hid in a closet, beneath blankets. Alfred, from then on, became very protective of his twin. Alfred prefers to say he doesn't remember his birth parents, although this is a lie.
Alfred's days were then spent in an orphanage in England with his twin brother Matthew. The two of them stayed together while they were young, Alfred often clinging to slightly younger Matt, but they ended up separated, adopted to different families. Alfred was adopted by Arthur Kirkland, himself a mutant, and raised alongside younger brother Peter. As it happened Matthew was adopted by Francis, something of a strange uncle to Al, and the two were able to continue to play together, as Arthur and Francis were--friends or enemies or something, Al was never really sure. After a few years, though, Francis had to be away on business, and sent Matt to live with Arthur for a time. Thus the twins were united once more. If ever asked, Alfred just says his family is weird.
He had a rather normal childhood, playing sports, attending school, and dragging Matt into whatever scheme he had cooked up. Obsessed with American television, he tended to pick up American slang, which made him sound a bit odd, almost like an American child with the wrong accent. But aside from that and a love of fast food hamburgers, he got along well with classmates, did reasonably well in school (he tended to--and still does--act dumber than he actually was, but really he's mostly just lazy about his work: he'll get it done if he needs to, but he doesn't see the point in doing more than has to be done), and was a mischievous, happy child.
And then Alfred turned twelve. He developed mutant powers--super strength came first, and as soon as he realized he had it he abused it. The boy had no control, and Arthur's abilities, while useful in containing him, weren't along the same lines, so he could only do so much to teach the boy how to keep control of his abilities. He tended to injure those around him without meaning to, and was banned from sports by Arthur out of necessity. It was obvious Alfred wasn't happy being contained like this, and so when Arthur heard of the Xavier Institute, he sent Alfred there, to help the boy control his powers and be around more kids like him.
PERSONALITY: Alfred is loud, outgoing, often oblivious, and has a definite hero complex. A fun guy to be around in short doses, he does tend to grow annoying if you're around him too much. This isn't something he's usually aware of, though, and thus he can be--tiring. But he really does mean well, even if he doesn't always go about
things properly.
Always wanting to be the one in charge, Alfred is quick to use his considerable strength to get his way, leading meetings, group projects, and anything he's allowed to take control of. He, as far as he is concerned, is awesome, and everyone else should think so, too. He tends to think his way is the only right way, and so his meddling in the affairs of others can make things worse and often give him new enemies. He tends to think of himself as invincible, partially due to his healing abilities and partially due to being a teenager, but he means well.
He loves technology, hamburgers, and awesome planes, and he has a tendency to be a bit out there at times, convinced of the existence of aliens while simultaneously denying the existence of fairies and unicorns. But, if you can get used to him, you might like him. Maybe.
APPEARANCE: Alfred looks young and probably always will, though right now he'd rather look older than younger. He's got blond hair and blue eyes, along with half-wire-frame glasses. He has a favorite bomber jacket that he wears just about anywhere he can get away with it (there's a 50 on the back; it's his favorite number). He prefers to be as casual as he can get away with, so normally he can be found in a T-shirt and jeans. He likes bright, primary colors best.
POWERS: Alfred has super strength--kind of absurd strength, which he's had since he was twelve or so. He's kind of a terror, ripping doors off their hinges, smashing up walls, banned from playing sports... His control's lacking, but his strength definitely isn't. It's a good thing he has some mild healing powers, then--his wounds heal quickly, and he's never broken a bone that's not healed in a day or two, so this makes him a bit more reckless than most. To fuel these powers that he frankly abuses, he has a very fast metabolism, so he's almost always found snacking on something.
Eventually Alfred will be able to link psychically with Matthew, being able to read thoughts, feelings, and eventually push the healing factor through it. Eventually Al will also be able to fly.
