The doctors have determined that for the time being, there are no surgeries or transplants in M's immediate future, so they are flying us back home tomorrow where he'll be admitted to the regular cardiac care unit

Thank goodness for being back on your home turf! It makes such a difference being able to sleep in your own bed. I'm sure being able to fly home with him is a relief too. No putting up with a commercial flight.
