Microfics part II

Jeans
One day, Vince brings her a pair of jeans that he says used to belong to Lucy. She doesn't question the reason why he has them, but when she puts them on, they feel like second skin. They're a bit big, but she know that Nathan likes that strip of belly and hip that shows whenever she walks around the room in them.
Water
Nathan watches as Audrey and Julia throw themselves off the cliff, into the cool water below. They land with a loud crash and a lot of giggling. He leans back on the towel and closes his eyes, waiting for her to come lay down next to him and feel the drops being exchanged from her skin to his.
Exposed
For the Chiefs "official" funeral, she wears her black wrap around dress. Later, after the wake and after they counted the amount of tuna casseroles, they lay on his bed. His long fingers untangle the bow holding the dress together, and she lies exposed to him. She pulls him close and tells him to take what he needs.
Dance
Sometimes, in her dreams, she sees herself as Lucy. One time, she watches as Lucy dances with a man and it's only when recognises his eyes, Lucy stares back at her. The stare haunts her for days.
Bed
She and Nathan put a lot of thought in decorating their bedroom. When it's finished, it'll be their refuge, theirs and theirs alone. As she puts the final touches to the bedsheets, she feels a sense of calm come over her. She's home, really home.
