PLEASE HELP!

I need decorating advice, please.  The dude's new room is going to be cowboy themed.  I am making him a bedspread out of the fabric pictured below, with a red trim fabric with small line drawings of things like horseshoes, wagons, and saddles.  What colour should we paint his walls?  His room is about 10x10, with two regular sized windows on one ( Read more... )

How about a medium-light green? (complement of red, warm so that it's not grayish) Or, get some sample strips in a whole range of medium and light greens.

I like the idea of brighter green, because that could be both cheery and relaxing. But is it okay to have the walls green when everything in the room is blue, beige or red? There's literally nothing else green.

i think i'd go with a lighter blue... not baby blue, but maybe a nice sky blue? i'm not usually a blue person, and cowboy doesn't automatically make me think of blue...but my little nephew's cowboy room is painted blue and it works very well (a blue that has a bit of a greenish hint to it..)

good luck, picking out paint always gives me fits :)

You know, I was ready to advocate for a fun orange (there are some really great shades at Home Depot). Orange would be a nice color that blends red and beige (sort of). I think it would be fun and bright and appropriate. I can also see the light blue -- the color of Texas skies! Can't believe I'm not all about the green, but I can't see it with the fabric, etc. Incidentally, I LOVE the fabric!

Tim votes for blue too. I guess I'll play on the Benjamin Moore website and see what I can find. Now I'm thinking a sky blue with a light beige for trim? I'll have to see what that looks like, though.
